VOLUNTEERING WITH A.C.E.S. |
|
Whether you need to fulfill volunteer hours for
a scholarship/service learning class, or you
simply want to get involved, volunteering for
A.C.E.S. is a great way to become a difference
maker in your community. As an A.C.E.S.
volunteer, you will be expected to attend one of
our many sessions per week, for
as many weeks as you desire. A.C.E.S. features
elementary and middle school program sites at
Monroe, Richard Green
Central, and Cityview schools. |

| A.C.E.S. has a variety of
volunteer opportunities available for
special events. If you are interested contact
Director of Volunteer Services Tom Basquill at

|
A.C.E.S. volunteers are expected to serve as
tutors/mentors for students grades 4-8,
assisting with homework and A.C.E.S. curriculum.
Each session, volunteers will be assigned to aid
a Team Leader in running a specific station.
This allows for volunteers to have continued
interaction with a certain group of students
throughout the year, building friendships along
the way. |

Qualifications |
|
College student or graduate with an interest in the well being of youth. Experience working with inner-city youth
preferred. Must have reliable transportation. |

Events |

|
Volunteering with A.C.E.S. will grant you
consideration for participation in special
recognition events and fun field trips! During
the school year and throughout the summer,
A.C.E.S. plans events for students and
volunteers such as trips to the Science Museum
of Minnesota or tickets to sporting events.
A.C.E.S. is always appreciative of the time our
volunteers put into our organization and try to
make the experience as rewarding and delightful
as possible. |

If you know you want to volunteer with A.C.E.S.
this next year, fill out a
volunteer application and a
background check form. A.C.E.S. needs to
have background checks preformed on ALL of our
volunteers, so we know who we are putting into
our school sites. After filling out the forms
you can either fax them to A.C.E.S. at (612)
331-3472 attn: Tom Basquill or mail them to us
at A.C.E.S., Volunteer, 1115 E Hennepin Ave
Minneapolis, MN 55414.
