Director of Education
The Director of Education is a new position that reflects ACES’s emphasis on program quality to accelerate students’ academic, personal, and civic growth, and increase educational impact in the Twin Cities. The Director of Education is responsible for the overall leadership and operations of the organization’s educational and youth development programming. Specifically, director of education is charged with envisioning and executing a comprehensive program strategy that includes curriculum, delivery models and structure to advance the mission of ACES. He or she will be an advocate for closing the achievement gap, a community mobilizer and a relationship builder with families and the school community. Director of Development
Reporting to and working in close partnership with the Executive Director, the Director of Development will be responsible for the overall leadership and operations of the organization’s development functions. He or she will be charged with envisioning and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to advance the mission of ACES by maximizing the philanthropic potential of its various constituencies (individuals, corporations, and foundations). If you have a passion for urban education and a genuine love of fundraising, you would find this role both professionally exciting and personally rewarding This is a fast-paced job that requires excellent organization and communication skills. All-Star Evening Photographer
Our 10th annual All Star Evening falls on August 6, 2015 and we are looking for an event photographer. This position is ideal for photography students or recent graduates who are looking to learn and be challenged by a highly creative work environment, while building a killer portfolio. Interns and volunteers have been, and continue to be, an integral part in making ACES a success. In addition to helping out a great cause, you will receive a photo credit at the event and your photos will be seen by 250-300 of the Twin Cities top business leaders, philanthropists, and sports celebrities. The photos you take can be used in building your portfolio and for non-commercial use on your photography website. Development, Exposure, and Fundraising Intern
ACES is looking for an undergraduate student in the Twin Cities area. This person should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with extensive knowledge of Web and social media. PowerPoint, Word and Excel experience is a bonus. This individual should be well organized, self-motivated and detail oriented. The intern will communicate with a handful of different people, from board members and CEOs, to students and low income families. Professionalism is a must. We are seeking a dynamic, self-starter who is passionate about education and working with low income students. This intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of fundraising, exposure and development. Paid Team Leaders (Summer)
June through August
Looking to directly impact Twin Cities youth? Then this classroom leadership position may be for you! Join ACES as a part-time direct service Team Leader. Work study students are encouraged to apply. Team Leaders work approximately 18 hours/week, four days per week, with shifts falling between 10:00am and 1:00pm. Check out the position description and application here. Volunteer Classroom Leader
Sign up now to be a direct service Volunteer Classroom Leader at one of our Minneapolis or St. Paul school sites. ACES Volunteer Classroom Leaders take an active role in improving the academic progress of our urban students by working directly with youth in a classroom setting. We ask for a minimum time commitment of 2.5 hours, once a week, late afternoon from October through May. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on urban youth in the Twin Cities!
