Comcast Foundation Contributes $15,000 to ACES Service Learning Component

The Comcast Foundation continued its partnership with ACES by awarding its third and final $15,000 grant in support of ACES’ service learning initiative. This contribution makes it possible for students to broaden their community project ideas developed through the award-winning PeaceJam curriculum. In the classroom, students identify neighborhood assets and needs, then create strategies to become more involved in and to strengthen their communities. The next step is service within their communities, based on the specific strategies the students have created.

Last year, ACES middle school students participated in service learning initiatives with a dozen community groups in the Twin Cities. Comcast’s ongoing support makes these opportunities possible.

Thanks Comcast for providing a total of $45,000 over three years in support of ACES programs and students!
