Macalester International Kidsfest
On Saturday, March 7, eleven ACES students participated in the Macalester International Kidsfest! The event was held in the Leonard Center, the school’s brand new field house that opened August 2008. The event gave students a chance to learn about other parts of the world by taking them to interactive stations, each of which represented a different country. ACES students had a wonderful time participating in a wide variety of activities, from playing cricket and footy at the Australian station to writing and decorating their names in Korean at the Korean station. There were also multiple tables with an assortment of international foods, such as sushi, crepes, and donuts.
The event culminated in two special performances by Irish and Jamaican dancers. Some of the students were so engaged in the show that they stood up and started dancing right along with the college performers! It was a great finish to a very fun and interactive day.
