ACES Student Success Story: Marvin Singleton
Marvin Singleton was an ACES student in grades four through eight, at Lincoln Community School in north Minneapolis. This fall, the former Hopkins star headed to the University of Northern Iowa on a basketball scholarship.
"Programs like ACES help kids who sometimes feel they can't get one-on-one help with schoolwork or life advice at home," Marvin said. "ACES was important to me because I was able to be myself and talk with mentors who had my best interests in mind, as well as learn life lessons."
ACES Executive Director Chad Caruthers was Marvin's ACES Program Coordinator at Lincoln, and the two still enjoy a mentor/mentee relationship. "Marvin is a great example of a young person committed to hard work and success. We are proud ACES played a role in his personal and academic development. Good luck from the ACES Team, Marvin!"
